“Not about my skill or entertainment. That’s for man’s glory. The mission is for God’s glory.”

Evangelist MADIE D. NASH

I had a light bulb moment. Using my gifts from God I opened a Liturgical Dance Studio at Newark Symphony Hall which is Downtown Newark, NJ. My daughters and some friends from work helped me to distribute flyers on the doorsteps of families throughout the city of Newark and surrounding towns in Essex County, NJ. My income from work allowed me to pay the monthly rent at the Studio. I had a desire in my heart to allow all the students who signed up for classes to attend free of charge. My goal was to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ using the Arts with an outcome of Salvation for all, healing broken, separated families. Bringing families and communities together. Students ages 2 years and up came from all over the city and surrounding towns. After 3 years of free classes, Holy Spirit gave me instructions to charge a fee and so I did. The fees were relatively low. Many of the Parents wanted to participate in the classes, including fathers. It wasn’t just mothers. It was a beautiful, wonderful opportunity to choreograph pieces that included mother, father, and children in the same family. Watching these families praise & Worship God together was awesome. We had Aunts, Uncles, and grandparents who wanted to join in. It was as if we were a family nurturing center. It was just beautiful. We had 2 concerts per year. One at Christmas and a concert in late spring. We always had an altar call for souls following our concerts because we wanted family and friends to receive Jesus. At each concert hundreds would come to Jesus over the years, and we gave them Bibles. Many of my students were co-workers and their families. I was truly blessed and honored to be able to minister Jesus to so many. We also had students come from as far as Trenton, NJ and Plainfield, NJ. Some took the train into Newark from Harlem, and Brooklyn, NY. Some of the Executives from my Company in Newark came to our concert and our group, The Elohim Liturgical Dance Group, was asked to participate in our company’s Black History month program in the auditorium. It was a wonderful opportunity to take the message of Christ to a viable corporation downtown Newark. Following that, our group was featured in our company’s newsletter. At the same time, I received a promotion at work with an increase in salary. It was God.
